Currently shower filters are unregulated, so many manufacturers make undocumented and unsupported claims. While regulations are pending, and until standard test criteria is in place, the products compared on this site are done so with the best available information. As a general rule with shower filters, "Size matters"!

Many of the smaller systems simply do not offer enough contact time between the filter media and the water being filtered to significantly reduce chlorine. Most shower filters use only the KDF media and are only capable of removing chlorine, some combine KDF with carbon in order to also remove other synthetic chemicals.

Understanding the abilities and/or disabilities of the different brands will allow you to make a more educated decision.
